Week 3: A Good Start (for some)

Hello there! Welcome back to the Week 3 edition of the Weekly Wrap-up, the one where Brody tried his absolute hardest to lose, and for the first time this season, actually succeeded. Also featured this week is a breathtaking story on how the worst team in the league returned to its former glory, proving once and for all that it does pay to be a nice guy. Don't lose faith in humanity just yet folks, GM Grafton is still out there fighting the good fight. Let's take a quick look at the power rankings before diving into some matchup highlights to see where things stand in MFFL. Power Rankings: Bigpapihugetime: GM Kurt and the Big Papis have put together 3 amazing performances and are showing no signs of slowing down. The only remaining undefeated team is looking like a machine. The Juice is Loose: GM Kelly suffered a tough setback despite a stellar Week 3, but with a healthy and productive team, a bounce-back is imminent.  Tittsburgh Feelers:  A close win in a high scoring ...

Week 2: Finding Identity

Welcome back to the Weekly Wrap-up! With 2 weeks in the books, teams have gotten into the swing of things with the season well underway and many have already found a solid team identity, or a trash one. The power rankings reflect this development with not much change at the top and bottom of the rankings, with minor fluctuations in the middle. (Maybe that just means I'm much better at judging everyone's fantasy team than I actually am at fantasy). Either way, let's dive into the week 2 power rankings and listen to Kurt complain as to why he isn't first. Power Rankings: The Juice is Loose:  Another 140 point week to tack onto last week's 130 point victory, GM Kelly maintains his #1 spot due to sustainability and depth.  Bigpapihugetime: GM Kurt boasts the greatest starting lineup for the moment, but minimal ooptions behind them. (While his greatest RB becomes a measly flex the moment Gordon returns). Scoregasms: Potentially the most undeserved 0-2 team in his...

Week 1: Kickoff Excitement and Disappointment

Happy Tuesday MFFL leaguemates! Well, for the teams that won that is. The rest of us losers are stuck in classic post Week 1 limbo of frustration and anxiety, worried that the once terrific team you drafted is actually just a shit-show. No yeah, you're right August, your team just had a bad week and scoring sub 70 is all part of the plan, no worries. With Week 1 officially out of the way, we have our first rendition of the League Standings, 6 winners and 6 losers. Let's look back at the matchups to see how everything unfolded: The Juice is Loose  (1-0) defeats Kraft Beer (0-1) in a high scoring 131-120 affair. The season's first Wildcat Matchup of the Week did not disappoint, featuring tons of highlight touchdowns from both teams, such as a dominant jump ball win from WR Allen in the endzone for a 28 yard score for the Krafties, while the Juice Boxes celebrated a superb 19 yard touchdown scamper breaking multiple tackles en route to Pay Dirt. QB Jackson of the Juice Box...

Season Preview and Draft Review

Welcome all fans and league members to the 5th edition of the Millbrook Fantasy Football League! The opening kickoff to the 2019 NFL season is but mere days away and excitement around the league has reached its boiling point. (How many joules does it take to boil a fantasy league Spencer?) The league is brimming with interesting storylines to begin the season such as: how will GM David and Late Bloomers continue their success as reigning champions?; will GM Michael and the rebranded Romanian RAPOs win more than 2 games this season?; will GM Darren ever win a playoff game?; and most importantly, how will GM Brody fare after participating in his very first live draft on his own? Before we dive into our Preview of the season and our week 1 matchups, let's take a quick look back at draft night: Key Draft Storylines: Potentially the biggest development during draft night was RB Ezekiel Elliott sliding down the 1st Round due to his current holdout. The RB fell all the way to pick #8...
