Playoff Picture

The 2020 MFFL season has entered its 10th week, and the battle for playoff spots has been as heavily contested as ever! With 11 teams still mathematically alive for playoff contention, not a single team has officially clinched their spot in the Ballzac Tournament, although multiple teams are tantalizingly close. Yes, our analytics team ran the projections and GM August and the Nihilists can still technically make the playoffs with about 20 different scenarios. Now, more than ever, the Power Rankings can give us a glimpse into the potential playoff contenders as winning these last 4 weeks will be crucial for every team to cement their spot. Whichever teams get hot now will be dueling it out later, in the cold of December. Should it Schmatter though? - Week 7

After doubts of even having a season amid the pandemic this year, the MFFL 2020 season has officially crossed the midway point of the regular season. As surprising as that may be, what is even more unnerving is that the MFFL playoff push has officially commenced, with many teams already on the brink and in dire need of wins now to stay on pace with the leaders. Unsurprisingly, however, is GM Dominic's absolutely abysmal season thus far. The 2020 season for Covid's Warriors started out terribly after a downright dreadful team name created by their manager, and rightfully so, has only gotten worse from there. Sitting at a record of 0-7, GM Dominic and the Warriors have been all but officially eliminated from playoff contention as the last remaining winless team in the league. As this is a completely serious and competitive league and Weekly Wrap-up report, GM Dominic and his team will not be included in any official MFFL reports until they finally manage a victory or their time ...

Never Forget - Week 6

Welcome back to the (bi) Weekly Wrap-Up! We have returned by popular demand for people to see and complain about the Power Rankings, but more importantly, so a formal discussion can be launched on the all time awful trade that transpired earlier this week. Restraining from diving fully into the impacts of this trade right away, the one thing it did was remind us all of the infamous Julio Trade. Never Forget the Julio Trade; despite how much GM Kelly wants us all to erase it from our memory and the league archives.  Firstly, as always however, let's reveal this weeks Power Rankings. While the teams at the top seem to have really cemented themselves among this year's competitors, instability is the name of the game at the bottom half as another week has gone by with nearly every bottom 8 team exchanging spots on the rankings once again.  Power Rankings: Mr. Nice Guy DTDB Irish Assassins Belichick Yo Self Scoregasms Fantasy Football Team Top 2 Not 2 Action Jackson Romanian ...

And We Back! - Week 4 Weekly Wrap Up

After a couple weeks off, the Weekly Wrap-Up returns to deliver once again the much needed laughs and trash talk that are tied so closely to the essence of fantasy football itself. I've heard musings of a certain article that might discuss the importance of this very idea... We apologize for the lack of content over the past few weeks as our understaffed MFFL employees had something called, "other responsibilities", that kept them from fulfilling the weekly fantasy content. With those responsibilities out of the way however, new content and features are in the works and should be revealed in the coming weeks! So, even if your fantasy team sucks balls (Dom), there are still tons to be excited about surrounding the MFFL.  4 full weeks of the NFL season has brought us a barrel of great games and exciting fantasy breakouts, but unfortunately more than anything, it has brought us buckets of injuries to star players, complete duds to others, and a few COVID scares to go on the...

Week 1: And... Here... We... Go....

Rejoice! The Fantasy Season is finally here, and after the summer we have had, this is worthy of celebration by itself. We at MFFL Studios have never been as we were to here Scott Hanson's voice than Sunday at 1pm as he delivered us his Octobox of kickoffs with the famous NFL Redzone phrase, "7 hours of commercial free football start now!" While spending entire Sundays sunk into the couch and refreshing the Yahoo Matchup tab has returned as usual, a few new features have been introduced to our weekly fantasy routine, including the brand new scoring feature: Defensive Schemes. The first week seemed to go over fairly smoothly, apart from a couple hiccups that were swiftly fixed, so a great thanks to our team for administering the new Matchup Google Sheet and keeping us all up to date.  Along with all the joy of NFL and Fantasy Football returning, we also get to see our first look at our rosters and make actual gameplay based judgements on each player. With this of course c...

Draft Reactions and Review

Fantasy Football Season is upon us! The annual MFFL draft occurred last night, August 2, to officially kick off the 2020 fantasy season and delivered way above expectations (much like Cam Akers will). In a hectic draft that featured not only the most ever draft pick trades, a zoom call with some of the most flamboyant managers, and a fully fledged google sheet that automatically updated with each pick, GM Matt of the Tittsburgh Feelers was finally able to make his live draft return after a multi year absence! This easily was the highlight of the draft for me and GM Matt seemed eager to make the most of his participation, eating up nearly all of (and then some) his time allotted for double draft picks each round. With the celebration of the draft and commencement of the 2020 season, a full draft review is in order as we look to break down some of the biggest moments and decisions that went down yesterday.  Firstly, any manager who knows anything about Fantasy Football knows that the...

Week 10 Rankings Update

Power Rankings: No More Mr. Nice Guy Kraft Beer The Underachievers Belichick Yo Self The Scoregasms The Juice is Loose Bigpapihugetime Tittsburgh Feelers 5 Year Plan Miking Mikes Leprechaun Soldiers Romanian RAPOs Weekly Awards: Oh Boy! Play of the Week: GM Dominic and GM Kelly get a joint play of the week for their record breaking matchup this past week. Both teams surpassed 160 points for the highest scoring matchup in MFFL History!  Murphy Mixup: GM August started the wrong TE this week, giving TE Hockenson the go ahead for 5.5 points while leaving TE Everett on the bench with his 8.3 points. Making the switch would have given the Stalinists 102.12 points, which would have seen them lose by the lowest possible margin in fantasy (.2 points = a single passing yard). So maybe for GM August's sanity, it's for the best he started the wrong TE. WTF Waiver Wire: GM Michael dropped $27 on RB Hill who will be replacing an injured RB Freeman for the ...
